29 Sep
Summary
- Non-stop flights connect New Delhi and Ulaanbaatar every Monday.
- Journey time is reduced to approximately five hours.
- New service is expected to boost tourism and bilateral trade.

A new non-stop air service has been launched, directly connecting New Delhi, India, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Operated by Hunnu Air, the flights will run weekly on Mondays, reducing travel time to approximately five hours. This direct link bypasses previous multi-city transit routes that could take 13 to 18 hours. The initiative aims to ease travel for tourism and medical purposes, thereby enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
This air connectivity is also poised to stimulate bilateral trade and commerce through more efficient cargo movement. The direct flight service was formalized during the Mongolian President's state visit to India in October 2025. India and Mongolia already offer visa-free travel and e-visa facilities, further simplifying cross-border interactions for their citizens.
