In-N-Out Sued Over Sunday Service Discrimination Claims
18 Aug
Summary
- Employee alleges religious discrimination and retaliation.
- New management revoked accommodation for Sunday church services.
- In-N-Out faces claims of wrongful termination and unfair practices.

A former In-N-Out employee, Arianna Rodriguez, is suing the burger chain, alleging religious discrimination and retaliation. Rodriguez, who began working at the Long Beach, California location in August 2021, claims that in October 2025, new management revoked her long-standing accommodation to have Sundays off for church services.
She alleges that this change led to a hostile work environment, resulting in her being written up shortly after her religious affiliation became known to management. The situation escalated in June 2026 with her suspension for allegedly handling waste, followed by her termination on July 3, 2026. The complaint further states claims of wrongful termination, failure to provide final wages, and unfair business practices.
This lawsuit comes as In-N-Out CEO Lynsi Snyder has previously expressed her Christian faith, noting her family's tradition of printing Bible verses on the company's packaging. The chain's cups and wrappers feature verses from John 3:16, Proverbs 24:16, and Luke 6:35.
