In-N-Out Eyes 3 New States, Prioritizing Quality Over Growth

In-N-Out Burger CEO Lynsi Snyder recently indicated that Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma are being considered for future restaurant locations. Snyder, the granddaughter of the chain's co-founders, emphasized that the company's expansion strategy is driven by a commitment to quality and core values, rather than rapid growth.

She stated that maintaining the "In-N-Out family" and its renowned standards for cleanliness, quality, and friendly service are paramount. The chain's dedication to freshness is highlighted by its use of fresh beef patties and the absence of microwaves or freezers in its establishments. This ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for customers.

While In-N-Out is expanding, with new locations recently opened in Tennessee and planned for New Mexico by 2027, Snyder reassured that the chain is not growing excessively. She expressed a sentiment of "special peace" in knowing that In-N-Out is not ubiquitous, indicating a deliberate approach to market penetration.

California remains the heart of In-N-Out, with 299 locations there, and Snyder affirmed it will always be the company's home base. The company's origins trace back to Baldwin Park, California, where it pioneered the drive-thru concept with a two-way speaker system.

Recent expansions include the opening of the first In-N-Out in Washington state in August 2025 and its entry into Tennessee in December of the previous year. The Tennessee expansion marked the chain's easternmost presence to date, with several locations now operating there and more anticipated.
