The four-day exhibition, Samagam 2026, organized by the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), commenced on Friday at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh inaugurated the event.
Pathak emphasized sustainable living, advising attendees to plant trees around homes and implement rooftop rainwater harvesting to minimize electricity consumption. He also highlighted the need for adequate lighting and ventilation.
Minister Swatantra Dev Singh urged architects and designers to integrate eco-friendly practices, building homes with nature as a central consideration. The exhibition brought together leading architects, engineers, and interior designers from both India and internationally.
Actress Soha Ali Khan noted the unique nature of IIID Samagam 2026, commending the historic architecture of Lucknow and the contributions of designers in shaping the city's future. Notable figures from IIID and international design circles were also in attendance.
