Summary
- Hyundai's new Bayon SUV will slot between Venue and Creta.
- The India-spec Bayon differs from European and Central Asian models.
- A factory-fitted CNG powertrain is expected for the Bayon range.
Hyundai Motor India has announced the upcoming launch of its new SUV, the Hyundai Bayon, in the Indian market. This new model is slated to be positioned between the existing Venue and Creta SUVs in Hyundai's lineup.
The India-bound Bayon will feature different specifications compared to the versions sold in Europe and Central Asia. Recent sightings of road-tested mules have provided glimpses of the SUV's exterior, including its rising window line, C-pillar kink, and roof rails, along with distinctive rear LED lighting.
Images also reveal the interior, showcasing a dashboard design with what appears to be two screens, possibly 12.3-inch units similar to those in higher-spec Venue models. A two-tone steering wheel with Hyundai's signature 'H' motif is also visible.
A significant development is the anticipated inclusion of a CNG version, which would make the Bayon the first Hyundai model over four meters to feature a factory-fitted CNG powertrain. The company has not yet disclosed launch dates, pricing, or full specifications, with more details expected closer to the market introduction.
