Indiramma Towers Housing Lottery Draws Near

The housing board in Hyderabad is set to hold an online lottery on November 3 to choose beneficiaries for Indiramma Towers housing units across four assembly constituencies. Following this, a mop-up lottery will take place on November 4. This second lottery aims to reallocate vacant housing units in 16 other constituencies where initial selections were invalidated for various reasons.

To guarantee a fair and transparent selection process, both lotteries will utilize an e-lottery system. The entire proceedings will be streamed live on the Housing department's YouTube channel and social media platforms, allowing public viewership. Earlier, applications were gathered for flats in Musheerabad, LB Nagar, Chandrayangutta, and Goshamahal constituencies, with preliminary scrutiny now complete.

The Indiramma Houses scheme initially launched a pilot project involving the construction of 480 houses in each assembly constituency within the Outer Ring Road limits. While beneficiaries were first chosen through lotteries in 16 constituencies, subsequent field verifications revealed issues such as ineligible residents, payment difficulties, or existing property ownership, leading to vacant units that will now be filled through the mop-up lottery.
