This second phase is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 19, 2026, and is expected to conclude three weeks later.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo emphasized the necessity of these investigations to guarantee the repair program is effective and provides a lasting solution. During the investigation period, the footbridge will experience temporary closures for pedestrians and cyclists, with a diversion route available over the Millennium footbridge. The council plans to collaborate with local businesses to mitigate any disruptions.
