Hilton Cuts Ties with Hotel for Rejecting Immigration Agents
7 Jan
Summary
- Hilton removed a franchise location after a video showed refusal of DHS reservations.
- The hotel initially denied service to immigration agents, contradicting company statements.
- Conservative influencer's video led to swift action by Hilton against the hotel.

A Hampton Inn located in Lakeville, Minnesota, faced swift consequences after a video emerged showing an employee denying service to Department of Homeland Security reservations. Hilton, the parent company, took immediate action by removing the franchise location from its booking systems and website. This occurred just a day after the accusation of denying service to immigration agents gained traction.
The situation escalated when a conservative influencer posted a video on X, seemingly captured late Monday night. In the video, an employee appeared to confirm a policy of turning away immigration agents, which contradicted earlier public apologies issued by Hilton and the hotel's owner, Everpeak Hospitality. These apologies had affirmed their commitment to welcoming all guests, including government agencies.
While Hilton did not confirm if the franchise agreement was terminated, the independent owner-operator hotel is no longer available for booking on major travel platforms like Expedia and Booking.com. Management for the Lakeville Hampton Inn and Everpeak Hospitality could not be immediately reached for comment regarding the ongoing situation.
