Elm St. is projected to generate up to 200 new employment opportunities once fully operational. Owner Russell Patterson has stated that the company is actively working with the city to secure necessary permits for the upfit, marking a crucial step in the transformation process.
The medical services company, which specializes in wholesale drug distribution and third-party health insurance management, is already a substantial employer in High Point. With approximately 247 employees, Exemplar Health is among the city's top 25 employers. The newly acquired 150,000-square-foot facility, situated on 16 acres, is conveniently located near the company's headquarters.
Patterson has indicated that while the building's core structure was sound, significant upgrades including new roofing and air conditioning are being implemented to modernize the space. He expressed optimism that renovations will be completed by the end of the current year. Following the completion of these upgrades, Exemplar Health will initiate its hiring phase to staff the expanded distribution center, having already brought about 15 new employees on board.
