HDFC Bank Fuels EV Dreams with New Flexi Loan
25 Oct
Summary
- HDFC Bank launches Flexi Electric Car Loan for EVs.
- Loan allows separate financing for car body and battery.
- Battery repayment term is longer, reducing EMIs.
HDFC Bank, India's largest private lender, has introduced the "Flexi Electric Car Loan," a novel financing product aimed at accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption across the country. This innovative loan structure allows customers to finance the electric car's body and its battery in distinct proportions.
Recognizing that batteries are the most expensive part of an EV, the Flexi Electric Car Loan enables customers to extend the repayment period specifically for the battery portion. This approach allows for customized Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) outflows, making the battery's EMI comparable to the running costs of a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle.
The bank stated that this offering aligns with evolving battery subscription models and is exclusively for EV purchases from leading manufacturers, available across its 9,700+ branches. The launch signifies a commitment to supporting India's EV revolution through financial innovation.
