Haryana has greenlit Rs 912.7 crore for critical power infrastructure enhancements under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The Distribution Reforms Committee approved the plan, which now awaits final clearance from the Power Finance Corporation and the Union power ministry.
This substantial funding will bolster loss-reduction efforts in Palwal Circle, support the establishment of 30 new 33-kV substations, and upgrade 72 existing ones. Additionally, SCADA and Distribution Management Systems will be rolled out in Hisar and other urban areas.
These projects are projected to increase transformation capacity by 1,175 MVA, thereby ensuring more reliable power supply and facilitating immediate fault detection. Haryana's power utilities have already demonstrated strong performance by reducing technical losses below the national average and achieving over 90% billing efficiency with high collection rates. Ongoing RDSS projects are progressing, with physical completion targeted by 2027-28.
