Summary
- 117 MWp solar capacity installed across over 2,300 Biedronka stores.
- Generated electricity exceeds 113 GWh annually, powering thousands of homes.
- Project avoids over 62,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
As of September 29, 2026, GreenYellow has successfully deployed 117 MWp of solar capacity across more than 2,300 Biedronka stores in Poland. This extensive project represents one of Europe's largest multisite rooftop solar programs for commercial buildings and stands as Poland's largest solar self-consumption initiative.
The photovoltaic installations are currently generating over 113 GWh of renewable electricity annually. This output is equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of more than 61,700 Polish households and helps to avoid over 62,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
All electricity produced is consumed directly on-site at the Biedronka stores, meeting their immediate energy requirements. GreenYellow manages the complete project lifecycle, from design to operation, utilizing a PV-as-a-Service model. This allows Biedronka to accelerate its renewable energy adoption without committing capital expenditures.
GreenYellow is commissioning an average of 2.3 MWp of new capacity monthly, managing the complex logistics of installations across hundreds of Polish sites. This approach combines industrial-scale deployment with site-specific adaptations to optimize energy production and self-consumption for each store.
