Green Bay Airport Seeks New Management
15 Jul
Summary
- New management contract for Green Bay airport begins July 16.
- Vantage Group to oversee strategic and operational airport management.
- Green Bay airport aims to boost passenger activity and flights.

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport will soon operate under new management as Brown County seeks to enhance its financial performance and flight offerings. The Brown County Board is scheduled to vote on a five-year contract with Vancouver-based Vantage Group on July 15, with operations commencing the following day, July 16. This strategic partnership aims to elevate the airport's profile and competitiveness.
Vantage Group will assume responsibility for the airport's strategic, operational, financial, and commercial management. While the county retains ownership, the agreement will introduce new executive, commercial, and operations directors, hired at the county's expense. This transition follows a period where Green Bay's airport has lagged behind Appleton International Airport in passenger activity and flight expansion.
In recent years, Green Bay's passenger numbers have hovered below 700,000, a stark contrast to Appleton's over 1.3 million in 2025. The resolution to approve Vantage Group's contract also includes eliminating two management positions, while the Airport Director's salary will be reduced to $1. This initiative underscores Brown County's commitment to revitalizing its airport assets.
