Goa Hotel Rates Dip Amidst Competition
24 Nov, 2025
Summary
- Goa hotel rates are declining despite increased tourist arrivals.
- New supply and competition from international markets are factors.
- Discounts up to 48% are seen for three- and four-star hotels.

Goa, India's famed seaside tourist hub, is witnessing an unusual dip in hotel room tariffs as the year-end season approaches. While tourist arrivals have seen a modest increase of 6.23% from January to September this year, factors such as an influx of new hotel rooms and fierce competition from short-haul international destinations have put downward pressure on prices.
Analysis indicates that Goa is the only major Indian hospitality market experiencing a decline in revenue per available room for the year-to-date period. This trend is reflected on travel platforms, where discounts of up to 48% are being offered for three- and four-star hotels, even for the Christmas and New Year's Eve holiday period.
