Urban Company (UC) reported that its service partners earned an average net income of Rs 28,322 monthly in the first nine months of FY26. This marks an increase from Rs 26,489 in the same period last year, according to its Partner Earnings Index released on Wednesday.
This data emerges against a backdrop of significant unrest within the gig economy, with numerous delivery workers striking for better pay and recognition. UC's cofounder and CEO, Abhiraj Singh Bhal, described the earnings growth as indicative of a shift toward dignified, skill-based work, noting that these incomes surpass statutory minimum wages and are comparable to entry-level IT salaries.
The company emphasized steady demand across its service categories, including cleaning, repairs, and beauty. High-performing partners saw substantial gains, with the top 10% earning an average of Rs 47,471 per month. On average, partners utilized about 91 hours monthly on the platform, earning approximately Rs 313 per hour.
