15 Sep
Summary
- MARTA stations host National Voter Registration Day events.
- Georgians can register or update voter information through Oct. 5.
- Military and overseas ballots can now be transmitted.
Georgians have opportunities today to register to vote or update their voter information, coinciding with National Voter Registration Day. MARTA is hosting nonpartisan registration events from 3 to 6 p.m. at six busy rail stations across metro Atlanta, including College Park and H.E. Holmes. These efforts, ongoing since 2008, aim to reach unregistered riders and simplify the registration process.
The deadline to register for the November 3 general election is October 5. Advance voting begins on October 13. Election officials encourage all registered voters to check their information, especially after moving. Georgia's My Voter Page allows voters to verify their registration, find polling locations, and view sample ballots.
Additionally, election officials can now begin sending general election ballots to eligible military members, their families, and U.S. citizens residing overseas. This coincides with the general election scheduled for November 3.
