Geely Launches Hybrid Tech to Dethrone Japanese Giants

Geely Auto has introduced its i-HEV Intelligent Hybrid system, a move intended to directly confront the long-standing dominance of Japanese manufacturers in the hybrid vehicle sector. This innovative system features an AI-powered energy management platform designed to optimize efficiency by analyzing real-time environmental factors like temperature, humidity, and altitude.

In a notable achievement, a Geely Emgrand model equipped with the i-HEV system recorded an exceptional fuel consumption of 2.22 liters per 100 kilometers, setting a new Guinness World Record. Geely asserts that the system's onboard computing power supports advanced intelligent driving features, which they claim are not yet matched by Japanese hybrid offerings.

The new hybrid technology will be integrated into several Geely models, including the Preface, Monjaro, Starray, and Emgrand, beginning this year. Industry analysts view this launch as a pivotal moment, representing a comprehensive challenge to Japanese automakers in both domestic and international markets.
