Leisure Charity Fusion Lifestyle Enters Administration
2 Apr
Summary
- Fusion Lifestyle, a charity operating leisure centres, has entered administration.
- Rising costs and reduced funding cited as reasons for financial struggles.
- Administrators are seeking new operators for the majority of its facilities.

Fusion Lifestyle, a charity renowned for operating numerous leisure centres and swimming pools throughout England, announced on April 1st that it has entered administration. This decision follows a protracted period of severe financial hardship for the organization.
The charity attributes its struggles to escalating operational expenses, a decrease in government funding, and the ongoing impact of post-pandemic recovery. Despite significant efforts to secure new funding streams, these attempts proved unsuccessful.
Administrators from S&W Partners are now engaged in finding new operators to take over the majority of Fusion Lifestyle's facilities. While some centres, such as the Golden Lane Sports and Fitness Centre in the City of London, are slated for closure, many others are expected to continue operating under new management.
Several local authorities have collaborated with Fusion Lifestyle to ensure continuity. For instance, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council facilities will be managed by Serco Leisure and Leisure Solutions Community Trust, while Lambeth Council will oversee Brockwell Lido through its operator Active Lambeth starting July 1st. West Devon Council has awarded short-term contracts to Parkwood Leisure for two of its centres.
