Fuchs Lubricants Sees Record Sales Amid Supply Chain Woes
31 Jul
Summary
- Sales climbed 11% to €2 billion in H1 2026, with record EBIT.
- Volume growth in Q2 2026 driven by business expansion and customer shifts.
- Company raised full-year EBIT outlook despite temporary sales momentum.

Fuchs achieved its most robust first-half financial results on record in 2026, with sales increasing by 11% to €2 billion and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) soaring by 24% to €260 million. The company attributed this success to high demand, widespread volume increases, and its capability to maintain supply amidst raw material scarcity. Despite these strong results, Fuchs cautioned that some of the sales acceleration observed in the first half might be temporary.
Second-quarter performance was particularly strong, with sales growing 21% year over year to €1.1 billion. This surge was partly due to customers pre-buying supplies and shifting their business to Fuchs as other suppliers struggled with raw material availability. The lubricant specialist has also elevated its full-year EBIT forecast, signaling continued confidence in its market position.
While EBIT margins improved to 13% in the first half, free cash flow before acquisitions saw a decrease to €61 million from €81 million in the prior year. This was largely due to increased working capital requirements driven by inflation and higher sales volumes. The company noted that organic growth contributed approximately €200 million to sales during the first half.
