Four Roses, a historic Kentucky bourbon producer, is embarking on a new chapter with the debut of its Anthology series and its oldest-ever age-stated whiskey. The Anthology series is planned as an ultra-limited annual release, with each installment telling a distinct story from the brand's 138-year history. This series is scheduled to run for ten years, with one release per distillery recipe.
The inaugural release, 'Chapter One: Origin,' is a 21-year-old bourbon crafted from the OBSF recipe, known for its high rye content and floral, minty yeast characteristics. This particular bottling stopped aging after 21 years, with barrels transferred to stainless steel to halt the process for labeling. The release is bottled at cask strength, ranging from 102.5 to 124.9 proof.
This 21-year-old bourbon officially becomes the oldest whiskey ever released under the Four Roses brand. Production is limited to approximately 1,200 bottles. Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase this historic release starting July 10th at the Four Roses Visitor Center, followed by a special Whiskey Row event in Louisville on July 11th. The suggested retail price is $500 per bottle.
