Ford Motor Company has announced two separate recalls impacting over 134,000 vehicles. The first recall addresses a software issue in 47,587 trucks, including 2021-2023 F-150 and 2023-2026 F-250 Super Duty models. A glitch can cause the rearview camera image to be obscured by the infotainment home screen menu when the truck is in reverse, a violation of federal safety requirements. An over-the-air software update or a dealership visit will resolve this. Owners will be notified starting August 17, with the update expected by September 21.
The second recall covers 86,543 Mustang Mach-E vehicles from the 2023-2025 model years. The rear side quarter window glass trim might be improperly secured due to an assembly process issue affecting primer curing. This could cause the trim piece to detach while the vehicle is in motion, posing a hazard. Ford has received 219 reports of loose or detached trim pieces. Dealerships will inspect and replace the trim at no cost. Affected owners will receive notification letters starting September 10.
