Summary
- Flyadeal launched a new service connecting Mumbai and Riyadh.
- The airline aims to leverage India's fast-growing aviation market.
- New Airbus A330 aircraft will enable longer international routes.
Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal has expanded its network by introducing a new service between Mumbai and Riyadh. This move adds over 7,400 monthly seats and provides connections to multiple Saudi Arabian destinations.
According to Sanjiv Kapoor, flyadeal's acting CEO, India is a strategic priority due to its massive and fast-growing aviation market. The airline previously lacked the aircraft range for such routes but now possesses the necessary capabilities.
Flyadeal intends to increase frequencies and add more Indian destinations as the situation normalizes, aiming to serve up to eight points as per the bilateral agreement. The airline is also considering unserved markets with demand for low-fare travel.
Looking ahead, flyadeal is preparing for low-cost long-haul operations, with Airbus A330 aircraft arriving by the end of next year. These aircraft will facilitate flights to markets six to eight hours away from Saudi Arabia.
The airline's fleet is growing, with A321neos arriving from mid-next year and A330neos by the end of next year. By the close of 2030, flyadeal anticipates its fleet to reach nearly 100 aircraft.
