FireFly Metals Boosts Resource with New Finds
2 Aug
Summary
- New drilling at Ming mine shows high-grade copper and gold.
- Updated resource estimate and economic study due August 2026.
- Company holds A$196.4 million in cash for development.

FireFly Metals is advancing its Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, with recent drilling yielding exceptional results. Intersections at the Ming underground mine have reported some of the highest-grade copper and gold grades found on the property to date. These grades range from approximately 4% to 6% copper equivalent over broad widths of 30 to 50 metres.
This high-grade mineralization is expected to significantly bolster the project's mineral resource estimate, with an updated version and a preliminary economic assessment/scoping study anticipated in August 2026. This study will focus on an upscaled restart of production, particularly emphasizing the high-grade Core Zone, which itself contains nearly 20 million tonnes grading close to 4% copper equivalent.
Further exploration is also underway across near-mine and satellite targets, including Rambler, East Mine, and Tilt Cove, promising additional news flow. FireFly Metals reported A$196.4 million in cash and liquid investments as of the end of the last quarter, providing ample funding for ongoing drilling, engineering, and development efforts for several years. A bankable feasibility study is projected for late 2026 or early 2027.
