19 Oct
Summary
- Foreign investors net sold Rs 52,096 crore of Indian equities in October 2026.
- Skipper, Sedemac, and TFCI saw significant increases in FII holdings.
- FIIs invested Rs 52,096 crore in Indian equities during October 2026.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have net sold Indian equities worth Rs 52,096 crore so far in October 2026, echoing selling pressures from earlier in the year. This follows a brief period in the July-September quarter when FIIs were net buyers.
Amidst this market activity, three smallcap companies—Skipper Ltd., Sedemac Mechatronics Ltd., and Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd.—experienced significant increases in FII shareholding during the September 2026 quarter. These companies, operating in infrastructure, auto ancillary, and financial services respectively, have attracted renewed foreign interest.
Skipper Ltd. saw its FII holding rise to 10.31% after securing Rs 2,102 crore in new orders and expanding its capacity. Sedemac Mechatronics' FII stake grew to 10.30%, driven by a 53% increase in ECU sales and a new manufacturing facility. Tourism Finance Corporation of India (TFCI) experienced a 4 percentage point rise in FII holdings, with its gross AUM crossing Rs 2,000 crore and PAT doubling.
The sustained interest from FIIs in these specific stocks will depend on their ability to maintain profit growth, execute orders efficiently, and manage valuations, which in some cases remain high compared to industry peers.
