25 May
Summary
- Ferrari launches its first fully electric model, the Luce.
- The electric Luce model is priced at over €500,000.
- By 2030, EVs are targeted to be 40% of Ferrari's lineup.

Ferrari, historically known for its powerful combustion engines, has officially introduced its first all-electric vehicle, the Luce. This marks a pivotal moment for the iconic Italian sports car manufacturer as it embraces electrification.
The new electric Luce model is expected to carry a price tag exceeding €500,000. Ferrari has established a dedicated 'e-building' at its Maranello headquarters to manufacture electric cars, hybrid components, and some traditional engine models.
This transition into full electric propulsion is a strategic evolution, building upon the company's prior experience with hybrid technology introduced in Formula One over a decade ago. Ferrari had already launched its first mass-produced hybrid, the SF90 Stradale, in May 2019.
Looking ahead, Ferrari has revised its long-term strategy. The company now targets that by 2030, electric models will represent 40% of its offerings, with hybrids making up another 40%, and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles accounting for the remaining 20%. This represents a notable adjustment from earlier projections.
Deliveries for the Luce are scheduled to begin in October 2026, following a staged unveiling process that will culminate in a world premiere in the spring of 2026. Ferrari has also indicated a delay for its second EV, now expected no earlier than 2028.
