Lenders have rapidly deployed ₹3,361.83 crore to 774 applicants within a single month through the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE). This vital scheme, operational since December 1, 2025, aims to bolster Indian businesses navigating economic challenges and tariff pressures.
The Union Cabinet-approved initiative provides a full 100% credit guarantee from the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd to financial institutions. This encourages the extension of up to ₹20,000 crore in additional credit, supporting eligible exporters, especially MSMEs, in diversifying their markets and improving their global standing.
Implemented by the Department of Financial Services, the CGSE is active until March 31, 2026, or until the ₹20,000 crore guarantee limit is reached. The scheme also complements efforts to boost manufacturing by facilitating credit for equipment purchases, contributing to India's broader economic growth objectives.
