Exide Industries Limited has further strengthened its commitment to the electric vehicle sector by investing ₹450 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited. This substantial capital infusion, made on March 25, 2026, through a rights subscription, brings Exide Industries' total investment in its subsidiary to ₹4,802.23 crore.
The newly invested funds are designated to support the development of a greenfield manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. This facility will specialize in the production of crucial lithium-ion battery cells, modules, and packs, catering to both India's rapidly expanding electric vehicle market and stationary energy storage applications.
Exide Energy Solutions, incorporated on March 24, 2022, has been actively working on these ambitious projects. As of March 31, 2025, the subsidiary reported a paid-up equity share capital of ₹1,504.21 crore and a net worth of ₹2,738.06 crore, alongside a turnover of ₹116.89 crore for FY25, though it also registered a loss after tax of ₹209.12 crore for the same period.
