- EU and India have elevated their partnership to a new qualitative and strategic level.
- Key outcomes include a five-year strategic agenda and a free trade agreement.
- Prime Minister Modi's 'not an era of war' message aligns with European values.

The European Union-India partnership has been elevated to "a totally new level" qualitatively and strategically, stated EU Ambassador Herve Delphin. He described the relationship as "limitless, ambitious, and progressive," emphasizing the "momentous outcomes" from the recent EU-India summit. This collaboration is viewed as a significant milestone, fostering trust and shared political conviction.
Major achievements from the summit include the adoption of a joint strategic agenda for the next five years, the conclusion of free trade agreement negotiations, and the signing of a security and defence partnership pact. A comprehensive framework on mobility was also established, underscoring the deepening ties between the EU and India.
Ambassador Delphin noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "not an era of war" message deeply resonates with Europe's values, aligning with the EU's identity as a peace project. The EU considers both itself and India as "global forces for good," reliable partners promoting stability and prosperity worldwide.
Trade relations are projected to double with the free trade agreement, building on the EU already being India's leading trading partner. The EU business economic footprint in India is substantial, with approximately 6,000 EU companies generating close to six million jobs and significant export value from India.
