In a significant development, Equinor ASA, the Norwegian energy giant, has announced the awarding of new framework agreements for insulation, scaffolding, and surface treatment (ISS) services at its onshore plants in Norway. The agreements, signed with a joint venture and several other suppliers, collectively represent over a thousand full-time equivalents and have a duration of up to eight years, with four years firm and options for two-year extensions.
The total value of these new contracts is estimated to be around NOK 17 billion, or approximately $2 billion. The company has stated that the current agreements are set to expire at the end of this year, and the new ones will be formally put into effect on January 1, 2026, ensuring a "gradual transition" between the old and new suppliers to maintain operational continuity.
Equinor, which explores, transports, produces, refines, and markets petroleum and petroleum-derived products, has divided its operations into several segments, including Exploration and Production Norway, Exploration and Production International, Exploration and Production USA, Marketing, Midstream, and Processing, Renewables, and Other.
