EPL Eyes $1 Billion Revenue Milestone Post-Merger
15 Aug
Summary
- EPL aims for $1 billion revenue post-merger, targeting $35-50M in synergies.
- Revenue growth guidance raised to high teens after strong Q1FY27 performance.
- Company successfully passed on West Asia crisis costs, maintaining 20% EBITDA margin.

EPL, formerly Essel Propack, is targeting a significant milestone, aiming to achieve $1 billion in revenue early next year upon completion of its proposed merger. The company's chief executive, Hemant Bakshi, announced an upward revision of its near-term revenue growth guidance from low double digits to high teens. This adjustment follows a robust 25% year-on-year revenue increase in the April-June quarter of 2026 (Q1FY27), reaching ₹1,388 crore.
Bakshi expressed confidence in maintaining underlying earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) margins at around 20%. This stability is attributed to the successful passing on of additional costs incurred due to the West Asia crisis, without disrupting customer service. Underlying growth, excluding crisis-related pricing, stood at a strong 20%, bolstering confidence in sustaining high-teen revenue growth.
The company's performance is supported by robust growth in both its oral care and beauty and cosmetics segments. While oral care shows steady recovery, the beauty and cosmetics sector, with a current global share of 8%, presents a significant opportunity for market share expansion over the next three to four years.
Furthermore, the proposed merger is expected to yield substantial benefits, with projected synergies of $35-50 million over the coming years. This strategic move is anticipated to enhance EPL's capabilities and market presence, particularly in new regions, solidifying its position as a leader in consumer packaging in emerging markets.
