ElevationSpace Inc. has secured $40 million in Series B funding, accumulating a total of $63.5 million since its inception. This significant investment underscores growing confidence in the space transportation and low-Earth orbit (LEO) utilization markets. The company is developing advanced satellite series for space environment utilization and recovery, alongside a high-frequency cargo recovery service from space stations.
This initiative capitalizes on Japan's unique expertise in small satellite lift-guided re-entry, a critical capability for returning payloads and crew. ElevationSpace is nearing completion of "AOBA," its first private re-entry satellite. Recent milestones include global partnerships and selection for key Japanese space programs.
The newly acquired funds will propel the development and operation of ElevationSpace's space-to-Earth transport and LEO services, as well as its international expansion efforts.
CEO Ryohei Kobayashi stated the funding will accelerate the development of successor models to "Aoba" and drive full-scale entry into European and U.S. markets, aiming to be a key player in the post-ISS era. ElevationSpace's mission is to build an in-orbit transportation network connecting cargo, crew, and orbital operations, utilizing Japan's world-class re-entry technology.
