Element 29 Resources Inc. announced on July 28, 2026, that it received an upgraded drill permit, a Permiso de Inicio de Actividades (PIA), from Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines for its Elida Porphyry Copper Deposit. This significant development allows for up to 40 drill platforms over a five-year period, supporting resource growth and exploration.
The upgraded PIA was issued under an environmental certification (DIA) and represents years of environmental and compliance work. It unlocks expanded exploration opportunities beyond the previous 20-platform permit, which was primarily focused on expanding the Zone 1 Mineral Resource. The new permit enables systematic evaluation of five porphyry targets.
Further enhancing Element 29's operational capacity, recent amendments to Peru's environmental permitting regulations, published on July 18, 2026, permit qualifying projects to include up to 60 drill platforms. Element 29 plans to amend its DIA to increase its permitted drilling footprint, extending exploration efforts towards Zones 5 and 6.
Drilling at the Elida project is actively progressing with two drill rigs on-site, having completed over 4,885 meters of the planned 10,000-meter diamond drilling program. This advancement, alongside a five-year community Access Agreement executed previously, signifies crucial milestones for the flagship project's systematic advancement and potential resource expansion.
