According to a recent study by Zillow, the Sun City has the fourth-highest share of rental apartments priced under $1,000 per month, at 39%. This places El Paso among the top metros for budget-conscious renters, trailing only Wichita, Kansas (54%), McAllen, Texas (51%), and Little Rock, Arkansas (49%).
The affordability of El Paso has been further highlighted in a separate report, which ranked the city as the fourth most affordable place to live in the country in 2025. The study, conducted by the data-driven Voronoi app, analyzed the costs of 10 common bills across the 50 largest cities, including utilities, mortgage/rent, health insurance, and more. According to the findings, El Pasoans spend an average of $1,784 per month on these essential expenses, making it one of the most budget-friendly destinations in the nation.
