Lectric eBikes, a Phoenix-based company, is bucking industry trends by expanding its brand portfolio amidst widespread bankruptcies in the electric bike sector. The company has invested approximately $10 million to launch three new brands: a relaunch of Juiced Bikes, a new Juiced Powersports brand, and a premium adventure brand named Monarc.
This strategic expansion comes as many e-bike companies have faced financial difficulties, including the high-profile bankruptcy of Rad Power Bikes in December. Lectric's CEO, Levi Conlow, views the market consolidation as an opportunity, stating that the market now lacks worthy competition.
Lectric's success is attributed to its bootstrap approach, avoiding venture capital and focusing on profitability. The company, founded seven years ago, has become a top direct-to-consumer e-bike seller, shipping 150,000 units in 2025. Conlow emphasizes keeping brands separate to avoid market dilution and cater to specific customer bases.
The new brands, including Juiced Bikes (relaunched after acquisition in 2025) and Monarc (spun out this week), operate independently with their own product development, marketing, and customer service teams, though they leverage Lectric's supply chain. Monarc is particularly focusing on premium adventure features and customer support, including a five-year warranty and human-powered phone support for its new 'Marker' trail bike.
