Dudley Interchange Delayed: Autumn Opening for £24m Transport Hub
4 Feb
Summary
- Dudley Interchange's opening is delayed until autumn.
- The £24m bus and tram station project faced construction delays.
- Dudley's new Metro line phase one will open August 28.

The long-awaited Dudley Interchange, a significant £24 million transport hub, will not commence operations before September. Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has announced that the station's opening has been postponed to autumn, over two and a half years after its initial site closure. Construction was previously anticipated to conclude this spring but is now projected to continue through the summer months.
The two-storey interchange is designed to facilitate seamless travel between bus and new Metro services for passengers. This development coincides with Dudley Council leader Patrick Harley's confirmation that the first phase of the town's new Metro line is slated for a 28 August opening. The Metro line's debut was initially planned for 2024.
