The settlement covers individuals who subscribed to these services at any point between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2026.
While Disney denies the allegations, the settlement allows eligible former and current subscribers to receive a portion of the $50 million payout. FuboTV subscribers were also part of the lawsuit but have not yet settled, with their case still ongoing. Eligible individuals must submit a claim by September 8, 2026, to receive their share.
Beyond the financial payout, Disney has agreed to consider proposals for more flexible channel packaging. This could include options without ESPN or with fewer Disney-owned channels, potentially offering more affordable, sports-free bundles for consumers. A final court approval meeting is scheduled for January 14, 2027.
