Denza, BYD's luxury electric vehicle brand, is slated for an India debut on November 13, 2026. This move signifies a significant expansion for BYD, which already offers several electric models in the Indian market. Initial offerings are expected to include the D9 luxury MPV and the Z9 GT shooting brake, catering to different segments of the premium EV market.
The D9 MPV is designed as a large, three-row vehicle, aiming to attract buyers seeking chauffeur-driven luxury. This model is anticipated to be priced between Rs 85 lakh and Rs 90 lakh ex-showroom. Internationally, the D9 boasts a 5,250 mm length and offers up to 520 km of WLTP range with its 103.36 kWh battery.
Complementing the D9, the Z9 GT is a performance-focused four-door shooting brake. Its global tri-motor configuration generates an impressive 1,156 hp, achieving 0-100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. This model is expected to command a higher price, estimated between Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 1.5 crore, and will feature advanced capabilities like rear-wheel steering.
Denza vehicles will likely be positioned above BYD's current passenger car lineup in India. A separate retail experience is reportedly planned for the luxury marque, with both models initially expected to be imported as completely built units.
