In a significant move to enhance the city's aesthetic appeal, the Delhi government recently formalized a partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This collaboration centers on the beautification and maintenance of public spaces, specifically targeting the areas beneath several flyovers across the national capital. The initiative is set to transform key urban zones.
Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), IOCL will assume responsibility for the upkeep of five flyover locations, with four situated in South Delhi and one in Punjabi Bagh. This commitment is framed within IOCL's corporate social responsibility framework, underscoring a joint effort towards civic improvement and urban development.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the agreement as a pivotal stride in realizing the vision of a beautiful, healthy, and well-organized Delhi. The project encompasses a broader strategy for city enhancement, including potential improvements like medical equipment provision and the establishment of energy centers, aiming for a comprehensive upgrade of the capital's infrastructure and public spaces.
