Cummins India: Revenue Up, Profit Down Amid Cost Woes
5 Aug
Summary
- Revenue grew 17.9% to ₹3,426 crore, exceeding estimates.
- Net profit declined 7.9% to ₹543 crore, missing expectations.
- Managing Director Shveta Arya resigns, effective August 31.

Cummins India navigated a mixed June quarter, with revenue exceeding estimates but profitability lagging. The company announced standalone revenue growth of 17.9% to ₹3,426 crore, driven by robust domestic demand. However, net profit declined by 7.9% to ₹543 crore, falling short of analyst expectations.
Operating margins experienced a significant contraction, narrowing to 18% from 21.5% in the prior year, attributed to rising operating costs. This financial performance comes after management previously indicated a cautious outlook due to global uncertainties.
Furthermore, Managing Director Shveta Arya has tendered her resignation, effective August 31, 2026. She had been at the helm since September 2024. The board acknowledged her contributions during her tenure.
Despite headwinds in exports, Cummins India remains optimistic about growth in data centers, railways, and mining sectors. Sustained interest from the data center segment is identified as a key long-term growth driver.
