Cramer Sees Buying Opportunity in GE Aerospace Dip
28 Oct
Summary
- GE Aerospace stock pullbacks present a buying opportunity, per Cramer.
- Boeing faces a difficult recovery due to lowered future cash flow outlook.
- Despite sector pressures, Cramer remains optimistic about aerospace's long-term prospects.

Jim Cramer identified a potential buying opportunity in GE Aerospace following a post-earnings pullback. Despite broader industry pressures from higher oil prices and interest rates affecting demand, Cramer remains optimistic about the aerospace sector's long-term prospects. He noted that GE Aerospace's strong third quarter, particularly its commercial aerospace segment with a significant surge in orders, suggests demand is robust.
However, GE Aerospace did experience a decrease in free cash flow and carries an elevated valuation. Cramer viewed this as a point of concern, as the company did not achieve a clean 'beat-and-raise' scenario. Nonetheless, he concluded that GE Aerospace's underlying business strength makes it a buy at current levels.
Cramer expressed greater caution regarding Boeing, which experienced a significant stock decline. Although Boeing's third-quarter free cash flow exceeded estimates, management's multiyear outlook for free cash flow fell short of expectations. This was partly attributed to upfront spending on a new U.S. Navy fighter jet contract and a slower ramp-up in 737 Max production.
Despite these challenges, Boeing maintains a substantial order backlog in both commercial and defense sectors. Cramer suggested that this reset could lead to more realistic free cash flow targets for investors who remain. He remains hopeful for Boeing's long-term prospects if management can meet its revised targets.
