Cordelia Cruises has launched its largest vessel, the 848-foot Cordelia Sky, initiating commercial sailings from Mumbai on October 23, 2026. This significant expansion transitions the company from a single-ship operator to a two-ship fleet, with a second vessel, Cordelia Sun, slated for launch in 2027.
The company's CEO, Jurgen Bailom, expressed a vision to make cruising a preferred travel choice for Indians and aims for Cordelia Cruises to be among the world's top five largest cruise markets by 2032. This growth is expected to create 20,000 jobs over the next three years.
Cordelia Sky, spanning 12 decks, features over 1,000 cabins and boasts extensive dining, entertainment, and leisure facilities, including multiple restaurants, bars, a casino, and a 930-seat theatre. Future itineraries include a 34-day cruise from Mumbai to Sydney in 2028.
Despite challenges like rising food and fuel costs due to geopolitical developments, the company is managing operations. Cordelia Sky previously sailed as Norwegian Sky and Pride of Aloha. The company's other vessel, Cordelia Empress, will now operate from Kochi.
