12 Dec, 2025
Summary
- Copra MSP increased for milling and ball varieties for 2026.
- Milling copra set at ₹12,027, ball copra at ₹12,500 per quintal.
- MSP aims to ensure remunerative returns and boost production.

The Union Cabinet has approved an enhanced Minimum Support Price (MSP) for copra for the upcoming 2026 season. The revised rates, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aim to ensure farmers receive remunerative returns for their produce. The Fair Average Quality MSP for milling copra has been fixed at ₹12,027 per quintal, and for ball copra, it stands at ₹12,500 per quintal.
These new rates represent a substantial increase compared to the previous season, with milling copra seeing a ₹445 per quintal rise and ball copra increasing by ₹400 per quintal. The government reiterated its commitment to setting MSPs at no less than 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production, a policy initiated in the 2018-19 Union Budget.
This price support is expected to bolster the income of coconut growers and stimulate copra production to meet growing demand for coconut-based products both within India and in global markets. Procurement will continue to be managed by NAFED and NCCF as Central Nodal Agencies under the Price Support Scheme.
