The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) has effectively resolved a substantial volume of consumer grievances, facilitating refunds exceeding ₹45 crore between April 25 and December 26. During this eight-month period, the helpline addressed over 62,700 issues across various sectors, demonstrating its commitment to timely redressal.
E-commerce emerged as the sector with the highest number of resolved grievances, accounting for nearly 40,000 cases and refunds amounting to ₹32 crore. The travel and tourism sector also saw significant activity, with 4,050 grievances leading to ₹3.5 crore in refunds. These resolutions highlight the NCH's nationwide reach and impact.
The NCH's success is further supported by an increasing network of over 1,027 convergence partners. Consumers can register complaints in 17 languages through multiple channels, including a toll-free number, WhatsApp, and an online portal, ensuring accessible and amicable dispute resolution.
