Consumer Forum Orders Rs 57,875 Payout for Undelivered Supplements
31 Aug
Summary
- Online seller ordered to refund Rs 7,875 and pay Rs 50,000 compensation.
- Customer received neither protein powder nor creatine supplements paid for.
- Consumer commission cited deficiency in service for non-delivery and non-refund.

A consumer in Himachal Pradesh has been awarded Rs 57,875 after an online health supplement seller failed to deliver products or issue a refund. The Una District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed the seller to return the initial Rs 7,875 payment and pay an additional Rs 50,000 for mental harassment and litigation costs.
The complainant had ordered protein powder and creatine supplements online, paying Rs 7,875, with an assurance of delivery within seven days. However, the products were not delivered. Despite repeated assurances from the seller, the supplements never arrived, and the seller eventually refused to supply them.
The commission noted that the seller's failure to either deliver the goods or refund the amount constituted a significant deficiency in service. As the seller did not appear before the commission, the case proceeded ex parte. The order, dated August 24, mandates the refund within 30 days, highlighting a seller's obligation to customers.
