ComEd, in collaboration with community partners, has launched a $2.5 million bill assistance program for eligible business customers in northern Illinois. This new Customer Relief Fund extension aims to help small and medium-sized businesses manage increased PJM supply costs over the summer. Eligible businesses can apply for a one-time matching grant of up to $500.
Applications will be accepted online only beginning Monday, June 15, via ComEd.com/SMBRelief. To qualify, businesses must have energy usage under 500 kilowatts, an active commercial meter, and a past-due balance without tampering fees or bankruptcy issues. Home-based businesses are ineligible.
This initiative builds on ComEd's commitment to supporting local economies, particularly its small-business customers who are critical to communities. The program aims to provide immediate billing relief, helping businesses retain jobs and contribute to regional vibrancy. ComEd also offers energy-efficiency programs and connects residential customers to various bill-support and energy-saving resources.
