CNG Prices Surge: India's Gas Bills Rise
5 Apr
Summary
- Private gas distributors increased CNG prices by Rs 1-4 per kg.
- Domestic natural gas prices rose at the start of April.
- Indraprastha Gas in Delhi-NCR did not raise its CNG prices.

Several private city gas distributors across India have implemented price hikes for compressed natural gas (CNG), increasing rates by Rs 1 to Rs 4 per kilogram. This adjustment occurred following an escalation in domestic natural gas prices that took effect at the beginning of April, a move influenced by elevated global oil and gas market prices.
Companies such as Adani Gas raised CNG prices by Rs 1.5 per kg in Gujarat. Torrent Gas increased its rates by Rs 2.5 per kg in Rajasthan and other operational areas. Think Gas also saw price lifts ranging from Rs 2.5 to Rs 4 per kg across its networks in northern and southern India.
However, Indraprastha Gas, a major distributor serving the Delhi-National Capital Region, has maintained its current CNG prices and has not implemented the recent increases seen by its private sector counterparts.
