CloudNC Raises $20M for AI Machining Software

UK manufacturing software startup CloudNC has successfully raised $20 million in a Series B extension funding round, bringing its total lifetime funding to $128 million. This significant investment aims to accelerate the company's growth and market penetration.

CloudNC, founded in 2015, specializes in AI-powered CAM Assist software. This technology automates complex decision-making processes within Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, enhancing efficiency for skilled workers. The software assists machinists and programmers by suggesting optimal tools, cutting speeds, and generating necessary code for CNC machines.

More than 1,000 machine shops globally are already benefiting from CAM Assist, with a substantial customer base in the U.S. The company plans to leverage this funding to expand its go-to-market operations, enter new markets, and develop future products like Quote Agent, designed to streamline project cost assessment for manufacturers.

The introduction of Quote Agent is particularly timely, addressing the manufacturing industry's need to quote and program faster amidst skilled labor shortages and reshoring efforts. CloudNC emphasizes that its AI solutions are designed to augment, not replace, expert judgment, empowering manufacturers to do more with existing resources.
