Clearpool Shifts to XRP Ledger for RWA Lending
5 Oct
Summary
- Clearpool is migrating to XRP Ledger, approved by 97.16% of voters.
- The platform will use RLUSD stablecoin for institutional financing.
- A new CLEAR token will launch in Q4 2026 with a deflationary mechanism.
Institutional credit marketplace Clearpool is set to fully migrate to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) following strong community approval, with 97.16% voting in favor of the expansion. This strategic move formally establishes an alliance with Ripple, focusing on on-chain lending backed by real-world assets (RWA Private Credit).
The platform will leverage XRPL's infrastructure to finance working capital within the fintech sector, distinct from traditional DeFi protocols. The collaboration involves Clearpool providing technology, Cicada Partners underwriting risk, and Ripple participating as a limited partner. Financing will exclusively use the Ripple USD stablecoin (RLUSD), facilitating its initial institutional circulation.
A 1:1 token migration from CPOOL to a new asset, CLEAR, is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. The new token's initial supply will be 1.125 billion, with 70% allocated to current holders to prevent dilution. A deflationary mechanism will be implemented, burning half of all collected fees.
Clearpool's expansion on XRPL is built upon native standards XLS-65 and XLS-66, which are currently undergoing testing. The market has reacted positively to the news, with CPOOL's price increasing significantly from its previous accumulation range.
