China Extends Tariffs on Indian Optical Fiber
13 Aug
Summary
- China will continue anti-dumping duties on Indian optical fiber imports.
- The duties will remain in effect for another five years starting Friday.
- Tariff rates will range from 7.4% to 30.6% for various Indian exporters.

China's Ministry of Commerce confirmed on Thursday that anti-dumping duties on single-mode optical fibre imports originating from India will continue for another five years. This extension begins on Friday, August 15, 2026. The decision stems from a sunset review initiated one year ago.
The review concluded that ending these duties could permit the recurrence of dumping practices and cause further harm to China's domestic optical fibre sector. Consequently, the previously established tax rates will be maintained. These rates range from 7.4% for specific exporters, such as Sterlite Technologies, to 30.6% for others, including Aksh Optifibre and Finolex Cables.
China initially imposed these anti-dumping duties on Indian single-mode optical fibre in August 2014. An extension was previously granted for five years in 2020, and this latest decision continues that policy. The measures are set to remain in place until at least August 2031.
