Chandigarh Municipal Corporation officials recently cracked down on the authorized Sunday Car Bazaar at Manimajra's paid parking site. During an inspection, it was discovered that numerous second-hand car sellers were flouting parking regulations.
Specifically, several sellers failed to remove their vehicles after the bazaar concluded and neglected to obtain mandatory paid parking slips. This non-compliance disrupted the regular functioning of the paid parking area. Acting on directives from MC Chief Amit Kumar, an enforcement team impounded 12 vehicles whose owners or representatives could not produce valid slips.
The Municipal Corporation reiterated that participation in the Sunday Car Bazaar is permissible but strictly requires adherence to established norms. This includes timely removal of vehicles and compliance with paid parking procedures. The recent action underscores the MC's commitment to preventing the misuse of public spaces and ensuring the efficient operation of the city's parking system.
